Event Description: MUSIC: Anjuman E Dil – Ghazal Shanasi by Muzaffar Ali

 What - Anjuman e Dil is a series of six evenings of Ghazal Shanasi, devoted to understanding the Urdu Ghazal, its various genres are seen as a mirror of different times in history in the words of varied poets in the voices of several singers. The evenings are contextualized and curated by eminent filmmaker Muzaffar Ali who has nursed a passion for poetry and music, evident in all that he does - from his first feature film Gaman in 1976 followed by his iconic film Umrao Jaan, a ghazal in celluloid, up to present times - Jahan e Khusrau, Annual World Sufi Music Festival.

 Through GHAZAL SHANASI at ANJUMAN E DIL, Muzaffar Ali will share his passion and the journey of the Urdu ghazal in films and in the journey of life and explaining its idiom and metaphor embedded in their meaning.  Muzaffar Ali will take you through a new experience of poetry, exploring its various shades and nuances making it come alive through recitation and renderings by talented singers.

 Maashra will present experiential cuisine curated by Meera Ali, author of the award-winning book ‘Dining with the Nawabs’, after Anjuman e Dil for you to enjoy a variety of foods and drinks.
