Event Description : Virasat is one of the main cultural festivals of SPIC MACAY, comprising an eclectic mixture of all aspects of Indian Cultural Heritage. Virasat, literally means 'heritage' in Hindi. The event showcase a wide variety of Indian culture, from folk and classical dance and music forms, to cinema screenings, heritage walks, handicraft workshops, theatre programmes etc.  Active involvement with art forms, as rich as those portrayed through Virasat, would inevitably leave a mark on the impressionable minds, and create a hope for the declining state of our ancient art forms.

Virasat’s aim is to touch every child in the country and make him/her an active participant in the conserver, preserver and experiencer of the cultural heritage that India is so proud of.

30 October : 1pm - Nature Walk to Yamuna Biodiversity Park
31 October : 3pm to 5pm - Dhrupad Recital by Ustad Wasifuddin Dagar
1 November : 1pm - 'The Gandhi' Film screening
1-3 November : Madhubani Workshop
3 November : 10am onwards - Heritage Walk to National Museum
4 November : 1pm - Foreign Cinema Classic 'Modern Times' 
5 November : 3pm - Purulia Chhau dance by Chinibas Mahato
