About the Exhibition:
Anything!
Nothing makes sense.
Things keep changing. What I think, how I think, what I paint, how I paint. Guess that’s called being alive. The angst is no more. More of an understanding prevails. So I hope.
The unknown excites more now. Not forcing an idea/concept on the work. Not thinking, just
standing there in front of the canvas and literally letting it guide me, spontaneously. Not knowing what it will look like and where it will go. That feels more thrilling and liberating, from the usual clutches of conditioning and clichéd thought patterns. I now feel that stories are so naturally etched in the subconscious that I don’t have to force them in the art making process. My usual themes of personal reflections (the usual, who am i? why I am? duh!), intra-personal emotions and relationship dynamics, behavior patterns, the politics of power & society, the spiritual, the lines of control and the desperate urge to break free from it all. They automatically come.
I enjoy more, the discovery of moments and elements while making it. The process. That simple, un-intellectualized repetitive act. So drowning and hypnotizing. And I like to keep the whole process very quick, least speculative and be done with it in one go. That definitiveness. Then move on to the next adventure!!
Guess I have been trying to achieve this process for almost a long time. To do away with the eerie tentativeness, analysis paralysis, the exhaustive need to edit and change. I am happy with the so-called errors, imperfections. They are all just beautiful deviations, beyond my limited understanding. Try and removing myself as much from the outcome of it. It got made. It is what it is!
Rest are just opinions, endless deductions, convenient conclusions... blah!
