Event Description : "Jain Sculptures of the Deogarh Temple Complex" Illustrated lecture by Prof. Dr. Neeru Misra, art historian, Director, Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Visiting Professor, Manipur Culture University, Imphal, and Tagore National Scholar

The Jain temple complex of Deogarh in Lalitpur District of Uttar Pradesh is a treasure-house of exquisite Jain sculptures from 8th to 17th century. More than 2000 images, that have survived the vagaries of nature and social upheavals offer a deep insight into the Jain iconography and speak volumes about this obscure site
