Event Description : EXHIBITION ‘Museum of the Moon’ by Luke Jerram
British Council is delighted to bring the Museum of the Moon to Delhi, to celebrate its 70 years in India.
Get ready for this unique experience of bathing under the moonlight of a spectacular, large-scale installation of moon, installed at the British Council headquarters in the heart of the capital.
‘Museum of the Moon’ is a rare piece of art created by UK artist Luke Jerram, who used a detailed imagery of the lunar surface from NASA to create this scale model of the moon. The moon replica measures 23 feet in diameter, and each centimetre of the internally lit spherical installation represents 5km of the moon’s surface.
The installation is a fusion of lunar imagery, moonlight and surround sound composition created by BAFTA and Ivor Novello award winning composer Dan Jones. Museum of the Moon is certainly once in a lifetime experience and a must watch.
So far, #MuseumoftheMoon has been to some of India's most iconic spots, including the Gateway of India, the City Palace in Udaipur, and the Victoria Memorial Hall in Kolkata.
