Event Description : EXHIBITION 'Pseudoreal Aspirations' solo show of paintings by Devajyoti Ray
What we perceive as reality is often an extension of our own thoughts. However in a world
that is dominated by media created images, these thoughts themselves are likely to be changed to such extent, that we often end up believing in what is not real. Our perceptions and accordingly our aspirations are based on such realities – or in the words of the artist in such Pseudorealities.
The exhibition showcases artworks which show various facets of life which are all believable and yet if seen properly, they are actually non existent in real life.
About the Artist : Devajyoti Ray’s works have been exhibited in many cities including Paris, London, Singapore and Dubai. Over the years he has developed a unique style which is called Pseudorealism, where unrealistic colours and odd shapes are juxtaposed to create a comprehendible image that though remains unreal, appeals like a realistic work- hence the name “Pseudoreal”.
