Event Description : EXHIBITION : Art Alive Gallery presents "World of Watercolors" solo art show by Paresh Maity.
Art Alive Gallery presents an exhibition and book ‘Paresh Maity: World of Watercolours’, which showcases 40 years of Paresh Maity’s journey with Watercolors. With watercolor being the most difficult and oldest medium in the field of painting due to many limitations, this exhibition is first of its kind and offers a mini retrospective on Paresh Maity's incomparable command on watercolors. Where few artists are able to master water as a medium, Paresh has extended his boundaries by creating watercolors on extra ordinary large papers often created for him by the best of paper manufacturing companies in Italy. His largest watercolor is in size 5 x 9 ft. Paresh Maity is the finest water colorist in the country today and has been recognized with many awards nationally and internationally.
The exhibition is accompanied with the release of a major book entitled ‘Paresh Maity: World of Watercolors’ which documents watercolors since the artist's early age and covers the subject span from his home town Tamluk, a small village in West Bengal and other parts of India and abroad including China, Japan, England, and Venice. Our Hon’ble President Shri Pranab Mukherjee says “I hope this book will help popularize watercolors and be an inspiration for young painters to venture into this medium”. This work is a most comprehensive and illustrated book talking about the Watercolor and the possibilities in this medium.
