Akshara Theatre presents a celebration of the multi-faceted artistic genius that was Gopal Sharman -- who worked equally proficiently and beautifully as a poet, a playwright, a musician, a film-maker, a designer, a carpenter and electrician -- practicing the same degree of excellence and attention to detail and deriving an equal joy in each of these fields.
Jalabala Vaidya, Sunit Tandon and the Akshara Repertory will perform short excerpts from The Ramayana, Let’s Laugh Again, and a poem and a song or two.

His enduring legacy is not just his extensive body of work – plays, films, music compositions and his young students and actors, but the exquisite Akshara Theatre which he built with his own hands, and which has become the forum for not just Sharman’s works but a vast variety of talented young artists.
