Event Description : MUSIC "Dil Hi Toh Hai" An evening of soulful ghazals by Venkatraman.
Venkatraman has been blessed with a voice that adapts to any song that he sings. He took to music with a passion from an early age and has given many live performances both in India and abroad.
Venkatraman’s journey into the world of music began with his childhood as he was born in a family where music was part of everyday life.. He began singing with enthusiasm and determination as he grew up, impressing every one with his melodious and smooth voice.
His mentor in the music field has been the great Sarod Maestro,UstadAmjad Ali Khan. Under his discerning musical eye, continuous guidance and constant supportVenkatraman delved deep into the realms of music. And with his blessings Venkatraman’s tryst with music has taken him to new levels.
Venkatraman has molded his voice to sing Ghazals and film songs of yester years. He has toned his voice to sing the Ghazals of late Ghazal king Jagjit Singh with ease.
Though Venkatraman hails from south India his urdu diction is impeccable which makes his Ghazal singing so special.
He has recorded a Ghazal album with the famous play back singer of Bollywood, MsSadhanaSargam “EHASAS”. His voice has a soft texture and he has recorded an album ofbhajans for Venus Tapes and Records, “Tujh Mein Sai Kujh Mein Sai’.
Venkatraman’s stage performances have always received great response. His performances have been widely covered by print and electronic media, with appreciation.
Venkatraman is adept at singing Ghazals sung by the famous Ghazal singers and equally adept at singing original compositions as he has managed to capture the sensitive emotions that need to be addressed through this form of singing.
