Event Description : EXHIBITION "Genesis - The Veil" a group art show
The Egg Art Studio, as the name suggests, is an incubator for art where ‘young’ artists are mentored and nurtured to hone into their maximum potential. The gallery will not only exhibit but also evaluate each work for its aesthetic and commercial value, exactly as is done for well sought after and established artworks. This is done so that the evaluated work enjoys the test of time and also is a sound investment for the connoisseur.
The gallery will juxtapose these new works with established international voices that make a difference to the way we view the world. In fact, some of our artists have already been recognized by agencies like the UNESCO and other international bodies for their work.
I have also had the opportunity in the past to develop India’s first art map The Japa Art Map, which was distributed to five-star hotels, luxury agents, museums, galleries and HNI clients nationally and internationally.
As I have been involved with the art world for over a decade, by critiquing, evaluating and curating for national and international agencies and have an established credibility, the statute bodies for arts and culture of other countries have associated with us. For our opening show we have curated an exhibition with the South Asian artist community and the Ambassador of an island nation that will showcase their history and their stories related with the creation of art. This work takes many forms.
We have an interesting array of artists and works from across the Subcontinent and beyond, as well as tribal artists who essentially were losing their livelihoods as creative people, having had to channel their creativity toward regular jobs. We have made an effort to find these voices and bring their traditional art back but in a manner which is not only relevant but also revives their heritage without changing the key processes and perspectives essential to keeping such heritage alive.
The Egg Art Studio is committed to working towards awareness on art and other creative aspects relating to it and will do its best toward education and research. We have had the opportunity to reach out and restore the last unfinished work of Raja Ravi Varma in collaboration with the Archeological Survey of India. This work now resides at the Kilimanoor Palace in Kerala.
With us the artists will find an environment that is fertile for growth and where they can engage with the general public to build a healthy ecosystem for art and its reception.
