Event Description : The Hungry Monkey and Art Collide present Matteo Fraboni Trio with Pranai Gurung on Guitar and Abhinav Khokhar on bass, presents a rilecture of standards jazz from the American Song Book, plus few original composition of his latest album "LATINO".

Matteo Fraboni graduated in jazz arrangement and composition from GB Martini Conservatory of Bologna; he learnt drums and percussion in Cuba with Changuito, in Africa with Mamadou Diouf, and in New York, taking private lessons from Ari Hoening, Nate Smith, Gene Jackson, Paul Motian, Bill Stewart and Brian Blade. In Italy, he studied in Siena Jazz Academy with Stefano Battaglia, Fabrizio Sferra, Massimo Manzi, Ettore Fioravanti and Roberto Gatto.

He won a scholarship for Manhattan New School in Jazz and Contemporary music and start playing while very young with some of the most inportant jazz musician like Fabio Zeppetella, Aruan Ortiz, Dario Deidda, Barend Middellhof, Massimo Morganti, Scott Hall and many others. At the age of 27 he recorded in Brooklyn, New York, his first album "Matteo Fraboni Quintet - This is my music", as a drummer and composer with the great tenor saxophone George Garzone,(Professor Berklee College of Music), Logan Richardson on alto sax (Blue Note) Aruan Ortiz on piano and Rashan Carter on doublebass, published by the Italian prestigious Label, VIA VENETO JAZZ - VVJ n075 (Enrico Rava, Stefano Bollani), with whom was selected as a BEST EUROPEAN JAZZ ALBUM 2012, and, recently, he is awarded as a BEST YOUNG DRUMMER by the magazine DRUM CLUB (2014) and NEW JAZZ TALENT in 2012 by TOKYO JAZZ NOTES receiving the 5 STARS from CRITICAL JAZZ USA.

He's also doing masterclasses, working on his method, published by Edizioni Setticlavio, "The Jazz Snare Drum", available on line shops worldwide.
Nowadays he is touring in India, presenting his new album 'Latino' with his Quintet.
