Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra : presents KAALCHAKRA or the supreme light of consciousness, where the state of mind which is an integral part of the Indian psyche, plunges into and emerges from the cycle of human birth and death. Kaalchakra begins with the Hiranyagarbh or “The Golden Egg” representative of – a state where nothing was and everything is, its physical representation is of one covered with filaments of the five elements – ether, wind, fire, water and earth. Brahman, the soul of the Hiranyagarbh, seeking to manifest itself in the form of the Atman, from a state of non-being to that of  seeking communion with the body. It perforates through rarified ether, wind, fire and water finally descending upon the placid earth and entering the human body. Birth thus takes place with the union of body and soul, this at a time when the human body is charged with energy and the Atman is in harmony with the five senses. Soon, the senses take control and the Atman becoming subservient to them, leading to discord and conflict between the two. The fettered Atman is fatigued and without hope. A desire for liberation gradually awakens in the Atman and therein, begins its arduous journey towards its goal of emancipation from the senses. The Atman thus makes a full Chakra of the cycle of birth and death, achieving moksha by merging into the supreme light of consciousness. Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra : presents KUMAR SAMBHAVA an endearing story of the demon Tarak, who enjoyed sacred protection in the form of a boon of invincibility from Lord Brahma, of which he took blatant advantage and wreaked havoc on earth. In desperation, mankind appealed to Brahma and the gods to save them from Tarak’s oppression and Lord Brahma said that Tarak could only be killed by the son of Lord Shiva and Parvati, with the intervention of Kamdeva, the god of love. Shiva and Parvati married. After a happy, peaceful existence in the mountains, Kartikeya, their eldest son who was incubated in six wombs of celestial virgins, was born to allow the world to rejoice. Kartikeya was taught by Shiva. At the end of his training Shiva asked his son to lead the army into battle and rid the world of Tarak. After a ferocious battle, Kartikeya mustered all his powers and released a deadly bolt against Tarak, that instantly saw him crash to the ground, dead. And so, the darkness lifted from the heavens and earth and the gods and humans rejoiced. Kamdeva’s death and his wife Rati’s lamentation offer the poignant and sad reality of a tale, where good and evil coexist.
