The concept of 'India as a Nation' was yet to be firmed up.. but the 'Josh' to liberate one's homeland had been ignited...nearly 160 yrs back the first 'bright fires' of few princely states joining into a cohesive union shook the foundations of the English in India.....know more of why and how your beloved city of Delhi was thrust into national importance during Mutiny of 1857....
A day before the nation celebrates the transformation of the 'Union of States' to the 'Republic of India' in 1950, DelhiByFoot gives you the opportunity to explore a few prominent & strategically significant spots related to the Revolt of 1857 on Delhi’s northern ridge & Kashmiri Gate area.
Listen to stories of valour and courage under fire as we walk to one of Delhi’s fort gates which saw pitched fighting, memorials erected in the memory of the British & Indian(native) soldiers who lost their lives during the mutiny, Churches & cemeteries and much more.
