Event Description : The Nehru Memorial Museum and Library cordially invites you to a Seminar on ‘Valuing Place in India’ by Dr. Anu Kapur, NMML.

Abstract : Place is very alive in India. The recent resurgence of identity, power and conflicts in India raise the fact that the value of place needs to be taken seriously. How can the value of place be experienced in India? Among the multitude of ways, the presentation delves into two lesser explored dimensions: first is the way meaning of place gets translated into the name of place and second is the demand of place as manifest in its unique products. The essential cord relating these two themes is the way in which place gets expressed and experienced through and between them.

Speaker : Dr. Anu Kapur is currently Senior Fellow, Nehru Memorial Museum and Library
