• Screening of Documentary Film on Shaheed Bhagat Singh
• Photo-cum-Biographical Exhibition on more than 100 Martyrs
• Shaheed Bhagat Singh Birthday Celebration
With the passage of time many things changed. Villages have become towns and Parantha has become Pizza. Technology has made the life easy. And with these changes we have changed our ideals and values as well. We have forgotten our martyrs who kissed the gallows and made supreme sacrifice to free India from British rule. But the Nation of their dream is still a dream. Shaheed-e-Azam Society is working tirelessly to clear the dust of time from the golden pages of their glorious history of martyrdom and bring it before the young generation. This Society celebrates Shaheed Bhagat Singh birthday every year with great spirit and enthusiasm.
On this occasion, a documentary of 40 minutes on the life, contribution and sacrifice of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and his comrades will be screened. Named as Inqilab, this documentary is produced by Nehru Memorial Museum and Library. This documentary gives quite authentic account of the contemporary events of our freedom struggle.
A photo-cum-biographical exhibition on more than 100 martyrs will also be conducted. People still remember the sacrifice of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev, Chandrashekhar Azad, etc. but there are many more who laid their life for the supreme cause and their names are nowhere known. This exhibition is dedicated not only to the well known heroes but also those unsung heroes whose sacrifice was second to none. A few to name here are Sohanlal Pathak and Pt. Kashiram from Punjab, Baikunth Shukla and Mahavir Singh from UP, Kunwar Singh from Bihar, Kanaklata and Kushal Konwar from Asam, Binoy Basu and Badal Gupt from Bengal, Veer Surendra Sai from Odisha, Alluri Sitarama Raju from Andhra Pradesh, Tirupur Kumaran from Tamilnadu, TP Kumaran Nair from Kerala, Rani Chennamma from Karnataka, Vishnu Ganesh Pingle from Maharastra, Hemu Kalani from Sindh, Master Amirchand from Delhi, etc.
On this occasion, Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s nephew Kiranjeet Singh, Batukeshwar Dutt’s daughter Bharati Bagchi, Shaheed Rajguru’s grandson Shantanu Rajguru, Shaheed Ashfaqulla Khan’s grandson Ashfaq and several other family members of the martyrs will also be sharing their views with the people about the sacrifice by their great ascendants.
Shaheed-e-Azam Society President Pradeep Deswal said, “How can we afford to forget the supreme sacrifice made by our countless, known-unknown martyrs to win us the freedom that we all enjoy today. All three, the Chapekar Brothers, chose the gallows for mother India. Our Society is committed to get the youth of this country acquainted with such priceless sacrifices so that the spirit of nationalism and patriotism is cultivated among the new generation and India of martyrs’ dream is realised.”
