About ‘Rabbi Shergill’: Rabbi has come some way since his watershed eponymous debut album's release in 2005. Now he's comfortably settled in the role of a rebellious, uncompromising though a wee bit enigmatic artist. He's constantly avoided treading the path of maximum returns and instead chosen to keep the flag of besieged independent music's flying.
These days he's often seen fighting the cause of deep ecology and rocking the stage in his high-octane live shows.
The Work : His self-titled first album Rabbi, released in 2005 was very successful and its title track "Bulla ki jaana main kaun" (Bulla, I know not who I am!), become an instant hit.
Rabbi has since worked as a music director and lyricist for the Hindi movie “Delhii Heights”. He has also performed at the World Social Forum in Brazil, played at the inauguration of the Tri-Continental Film Festival in New Delhi and various other Live Shows.
In 2008, he released “Avengi Ja Nahin”. The album contains nine songs and deals with issues like communal violence, social responsibility and the need for “collective morality
“III” - The Album : Known for his deep, insightful, stirring lyrics and urban Punjabi music, Rabbi is back after a period of 4 years with his brand new studio album titled `3’ signifying his 3rd offering.
The lead single from the album is the infectious “Ganga” – once again showcasing Rabbi’s lyrical intensity while at the same time his compositional skills. “Ganga” could well go on to become Rabbi’s biggest hit yet.
