Event Details : Delhi by Foot presents 'City of Djinns - Feroz Shah Kotla Fort walk'.
So how is the week treating you...the weekend is coming up and am sure you all have made various plans to have a fun weekend. Delhi weather has been experiencing pleasant weather for the past few days and DELHI BY FOOT believes this is the best time for you to come out and enjoy the outdoorsy climate & learn about some hidden gems of Delhi with a walk.
Right next to the famous Ferozshah Kotla Cricket Stadium in the heart of Delhi, where Anil Kumble took a world-record haul of 10 wickets in a single innings of a Test match against Sri Lanka stands a 650 year old rambling fort complex founded & built by Sultan Ferozshah Tughlaq. This fort along which once flowed the mighty Yamuna river was part of the sprawling city of Ferozabad, the 5th city of Delhi, stretching from current-day Hauz Khas to Feroz Shah Kotla with its attractions of a beautiful but now ruinous mosque, the massive Ashokan-era stone pillar, a Baoli & cells beneath the elevated platforms which give you the best opportunity to get lost in the silence of the fort, bang in the middle of the hustle-bustle of the city which is constantly moving around it.
DELHI BY FOOT will bring together elements of fun, myths & drama, story-telling and the urban legends of Djinns to better understand the rich heritage of this place.
We also plan to thereafter hit the food joints of Daryaganj for a evening of feasting on some delicious foods, catering to both the herbivores & carnivores amongst us :)
