Event Details : Nataraj is a visual interpretation of Brahman. It is the manifest representation of all activity of God. His dance, the Tandava, is considered to represent the five stages of the cosmic cycle, namely creation, sustenance, dissolution, the covering of the Great Illusion (Maya) and initiation (God’s grace to be liberated from the Great Illusion).
Anvarat is an effort to give form to the five stages through choreography in Kathak style. It is an individual’s interpretation of each phase, incorporating literature, technique and bhava.
