Images speak louder than words as an artist’s expression through his art is priceless. From the day mankind evaluated an urge for expression and high motivation for picturisation, art took a prominent position in the field of cultural expansion. Art is still one of the strongest medium of communication and artists have played an important role in the cultural transformation of our heritage and tradition. Oil paintings, wall paintings and portraits are important medium of connecting with our past and carrying forward the legacy in the future.
With the same spirit and enthusiasm Mrs. Shalan Murgod started her work with oil paintings on Indian sculptures. She studied various subjects of Indian and world History and very finely gave it her artistic touch. One of her artistic illustrations ‘Dancing Girl’ has been inspired from a very famous symbolic picture of Mohenjodaro and Harappan design.
In Belur and Halebidu temples of Karnataka the pillars and walls are encrypted with artistic portrayal of historical incidents and majestic livings of Indian Rajas and Maharajas. Belur Shila Baalika is one of the most beautiful architectural creations of this temple with great historical significance and Mrs. Shalan Murgod magnificently captured this masterpiece with her brush.
Her other works include majestic pictures of Saranath Buddha, Elephanta caves.
