Event Details : 'As I See It' an exhibition of paintings by Dr. Shiv Dev Singh.

Dr. Shivdev has discovered how, with the use of the humblest of tools--crude brushes and raw paint--an artist looks to nature and creates paintings with a fresh perspective and vision.
Shivdev’s landscape paintings take us on a journey around the world: to Africa, India, Russia, Canada, America, and across Europe.  He views each painting not just as an opportunity to learn, but also as a means of discovery of something exotic in the world around us.   We sense an apprehension of beauty and a process of learning that gives him great pleasure and allows him to exercise his mind in yet another new way.
Shivdev unveils the landscape of peoples’ faces  to the keen observer .  After accomplishing the challenging task  of a likeness, Shivdev then demonstrates  his ability to glimpse beneath the surface and bares levels of beauty not always visible on the outside. Much like Robert Henri, he is very skilled at bringing forth the inner beauty of his subjects. Shivdev’s perspectives on painting, enriched by his life of extraordinary accomplishments, give the observer a profound insight into the depth and richness of his current artistic pursuits.
After three decades of  medical training and practice, Shivdev has now completed over ten years’ study of drawing and painting.  His lifelong passionate pursuit of sports, medicine and painting, in turn, has resulted in some insightful personal observations.
