Event Details : The American Center and The Smile Train cordially invite you to the screening of Smile Pinki, the 2008 Oscar winner for best documentary short project, by Megan Mylan. The film shows the captivating story of a desperately poor girl in rural India whose life is transformed when she receives free surgery to correct her cleft lip.
Following the film will be a discussion with SmileTrain India Director and Founder Satish Kalra. Learn how SmileTrain India has become one of the most effective charities in the world, conducting 170,000 operations each year using only local expertise. American innovation and Indian ingenuity combine to create a model sure to inspire businesses and NGOs alike.
