Event Details : Solo exhibition of Drawings, Paintings and Sculptures by Eleena Banik.
Comment by the Artist : I am an artist based in Kolkata. I did my graduation and post graduation from Kala Bhavan, Santiniketan, of the Viswa Bharati University. Later on I studied at the Glasgow School of Art, UK with a Charles Wallace India Trust scholarship as a visiting MFA student. I also received the National Scholarship and Junior Fellowship from the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Culture, Government of India during my academic years. Until now I have received some awards including the President of India’s Silver plaque and the Governor’s gold medal from the Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata. I had 21 solo exhibitions in different cities of India and abroad including New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, London, Glasgow, Moscow etc. I have also participated in a number of group shows at Calcutta, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, London and New York.
