Event Description : Lightcube Film Society presents "Transmissions 3" The Festival of Independent Cinema From Around The World.
The third edition of Lightcube Film Society's festival of independent films from around the world, Transmissions. The ambition of the third edition of Transmissions, the festival of independent cinema, will be establish a platform that devotes itself specifically and wholly to the cause of independent film production and exhibition in the country - the festival will not only be a screening platform, but also act as a conference, a convention and a platform for an elaborate discussion of the fundamentals involved in the independent film scene in the country as well as a gathering of the most important independent artists working throughout the capital and other parts of the country.

About the Organization : Lightcube Film Society is an agency devoted to revising film screening habits and to devise new methods and techniques to disseminate culture beyond its mainstream-specified boundaries and metropolitan nature. The agency also believes that it is imperative that films are programmed that are beyond the currently fashionable, venues are chosen that are outside of the large auditoria or seminar halls and old world methods of audience-film interaction such as panel discussions, program notes and post-film discussions are reinstated, while also including innovative new methods such as video criticism, video installations and exhibitions to present a more wholesome view of the film or the director at hand.

Lightcube screens at venues across New Delhi | The film society organises Retrospective(s) of the work of a single filmmaker, wherein 8-10 films by the filmmaker are screened each successive week, so as to help the members of the society appreciate an entire filmography, or the artist instrumental in its production. This programme will be accompanied by programme notes, video essays and notifications of other Lightcube screenings.The current filmmaker in focus is the French master, Alain Resnais. The Lightcube screenings are announced beforehand via-emails, newspaper listings, social media updates and on occasions, the telephone.
