September Night of Literature
The readings and conversations will be in German, English and Hindi.
Even though the popular “Long Night of Literature” moved from winter season to autumn and changed its name the program still offers a variety of literary encounters. Katharina Hagena from Germany will read from her highly acclaimed first novel Der Geschmack von
Apfelkernen. In conversation with the Indian bestseller author Manu Joseph she will reveal more about herself and her writing. Swiss lyricist Heike Fiedler will give a poetry performance and be in conversation with Meena Kandasamy, poet, fiction writer and translator from Chennai. There will be tributes to the grand Swiss authors Hugo Loetscher and Urs Widmer and readings from the recent Hindi translations of works by the German Nobel laureate Herta Müller. Christopher Kloeble, established novelist, playwright and scriptwriter, will be the Master of Ceremonies and guide through the diversified program.
The September Night of Literature is jointly hosted by the Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan and Pro-Helvetia Swiss Arts Council.
