'Fete De La Photo 2014- A Photo Festival in Public Space' at Connaught Place (CP) > 5th to 20th March 2014

Event Description : The festival endeavours to reach out to the audience by taking photography out of traditional spaces such as museums and galleries and showcase them in public spaces to change the relationship between people and their city
Delhi will witness Connaught Place being transformed into an art gallery with life size projections on the facades of inner circle, along with magical projections at the Bus stops, Subways to increase social inclusion. The idea is to explore all avenues to bring together amateur and professional photographers and photography enthusiasts.
Some highlights of the Fete De La Photo 2014 line-up in Delhi are:
A mobile Photo booth that will be showcased in Delhi TBC. Anay Mann an expert photographer, will use backdrops of famous French places and venues (like famous restaurants, stade de France, Rolland Garros, Eiffel tower, Montmartre, South of France etc..) and click professional pictures of general public, juxtapose them on to these sites and print the photograph as a souvenir of promoting “Photography” and French hotspots
Astrophotography at the Jantar Mantar from 5th of March by internationally renowned astrophotographers Laurent Laveder, Thierry Legault and Ajay Talwar at whose objectives are to blur the sharp divide between scientific astrophotography and artistic photo-journalism
Women in the Public Space at the Hanuman Mandir Subway - Women's fear and vulnerability in public space is universal and a subject of great relevance in a society. Indian and French artists, like Uzma Mohsin, Gauri Gill & Cecile Plantin & Gael Rene’s famous AGORAMA. Each through their own individual intervention interpret the public space to give voice to women
The File Room Book Museum by Dayanita Singh – she continuously experiments with new ways to show photographs in book form or as ‘photographic architecture’. The File Room book museum features a single structure composed of 55 File Room books and 15 Nony Singh books, depicting document archives ranging from the unexpected to the ordinary throughout India
Paris Photography by Amit Mehra & Raghu Rai - Paris being a photographer’s delight, Fête de la Photo takes you down the memory lane and into the archives of photographers, who present their idea and experience of this city.
