Instituto Cervantes was officially inaugurated by Prince and Princess of Spain on 11th November 2009. The new centre is the first to be established in India, becoming the 73rd Instituto Cervantes in the network of centres devoted to the promotion of the Spanish language and culture, in 42 countries across the world.
It has a total area of 3,900 square metres which is spread over four floors. The centre has 17 multimedia classrooms, an auditorium that seats 150 people, two exhibition halls, an assembly hall that seats 40, a conference room, and a library.
