Event Details : Kalaiyin Kovil Natya Sudha presents Bharatanatyam Arangetram by Kumari Swagata, Disciple of Smt. Rani Shinghal.
Swagata is a student of Class XI in Ryan International School, Mayur Vihar, Delhi. She began her training under the tutelage of Rani Shinghal at a young age and after several years of intensive training in all the nuances and techniques of Bharatanatyam, she goes on stage for her “Arangetram” with dedication. A brilliant student, she has completed all levels of abacus and won the all India championship two years in succession.

Guru : Rani Shinghal has been an exponent of Bharatanatyam since her childhood and had her Arangetram in 1972.
She has given several performances in many parts of the world. Her expertise has brought her a number of laurels, Navarasakalamani, Natyakalarani, Kalaichelvi and the prestigious Shobhna award. She was honored the distinguished citizen award by Delhi Government in 1997.
Smt. Rani is recognized as an eminent artist under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

Institute : Natya Sudha is an institution for Indian traditional classical dance Bharatanatyam founded in 1959 by late Guru N.V. Venkatraman.
The institute has trained over 7000 disciples, a few of them today are film stars, television stars and artists of national and international fame. The tradition is being followed by Smt Rani Shinghal, daughter and disciple of late Guru N.V. Venkatraman. Natya Sudha is in its golden jubilee year and will continue the tradition of imparting the language of dance that is understood and imbibed by young students.
